Figure 1.2 Chatbot, workflow, and agent differ in one thing only: who decides the
next step. In a chatbot the human drives every turn; in a workflow the path is
fixed in code and the model merely fills in each step; in an agent the model
owns the loop, choosing tools and reading results until it reaches the goal.
The model-owned loop (in accent) is the whole subject of this book.
