Figure 18.2 The circuit breaker as a state machine, not a mood. Closed, calls flow and failures are counted; when they cross a threshold the breaker trips open (in accent) and fails instantly, sparing a dead dependency the load and the run the timeouts. After a cooldown it goes half-open and admits one trial call, whose outcome alone decides whether the circuit closes again or re-opens.
